Building the store

The next step, of course, involved creating a website to showcase the chosen product. So over the course of four hours, he meticulously built the website, which he branded as “ToastyKnit”.

The product page was meticulously designed to maximize conversion rates. Moe included custom images created with Canva, set a selling price of $79.99 with free shipping, and ensured a healthy profit margin by sourcing the product for approximately $24. He then incorporated features like product reviews using the “Looks” app and estimated delivery time information. Moe also enchanced customer engagement through a GIF showcasing the product in action, custom headlines, detailed descriptions, an FAQ section. Also, he imported customer reviews from AliExpress.

Quick marketing

With the website ready, Moe’s focus shifted to creating TikTok video ads to drive traffic and sales. Allocating part of his remaining budget, he then invested in a package from Dropify Ads, a platform for producing TikTok ads.

For $160, he got five video ads for his product. The videos featured a model highlighting the product’s benefits and calling viewers to buy the product.

Having spent $230 on the video ads and shipping the product sample, Moe had a budget of $254 left for the challenge.

This credit was based on the amount spent on ads, and then Moe qualified for $100 in free ad credit, increasing his ad budget.

He emphasizes that this strategy had yielded positive results for his recent dropshipping ventures, optimizing metrics such as CPC, CPM, as well as CPA. The strategy involved creating multiple ad groups with varying targeting parameters to identify high-performing segments and allocate budget accordingly.

He began by creating a campaign with ten ad groups, each assigned a daily budget of $20. While five ad groups utilized automatic targeting, the other five featured custom interests based on research. Moe’s goal was to identify the most effective targeting options for his product.

Excitement filled the air as the first sale was achieved, with multiple visitors browsing the website. With 17 orders, some customers purchased multiple units or opted for express shipping.
